Expressing Winter Thoughts 2014

The past weeks have brought many snow falls to our area and a friend of mine posted the other day that he loved the silence that comes with snow. I do, as well, and it reminded me that there are positive aspects to the winter season. Among them are the quiet and peace when Mother Earth is wrapped in her white blanket for a time of rest and renewal. And there is the absolute beauty of a snowfall! Not to mention the unique quality of each snowflake! There are winter hikes through the woods and skiing and sledding for those who love them.

So I decided to honor the beauty and picturesque quality of winter by doing a few paintings. I painted "Winter Sunset" to capture the beautiful bronze reflections the sunset was making on the snow. Then, I painted "Tree Spirit" to honor the survival of a very old tree that has been damaged but has survived many winters. And finally, I painted "Winter Magic" to honor the barren beauty of winter. The frozen landscape is made magical by a hint of sun and the falling snow.

I wish you all the peace of winter and look forward to the coming spring,
Mary

Choosing brushes and colors
Hello and Happy New Year! I hope your 2014 is full of positive events that inspire you and help you move forward with love and light.

I took a moment to photograph and document my process, so I hope you'll take a look at the page I made!

Inspiration in the Moonlight

Yesterday , another Angel inspiration occurred to me.  I could envision an angel appearing in front of a full moon, carrying peace to blanket the earth. Here were my thoughts about it:

Moonlight Angel appears in a starry sky as an image projected in the light of a full moon.  The angel is formed of energy and colorful light....somewhat the same as the color of a sky at sunrise.

She brings with her, a mantle of peace to cover the earth.

Peace to all,
Mary

Golden Sunrise

Mary Cogley at Nags Head NC
My painting called "Golden Sunrise""was inspired by a morning at Nags Head, N.C., when the sun turned everything to gold.  It was glorious to see!

The sky, the ocean, and the sand all took on a shimmering quality and the most beautiful golden color!  It all seemed to blend and dance before my eyes.

It is just one of many lovely scenes I was presented with as I walked the beach at sunrise every morning at the Outer Banks.

We'll list this painting on my Etsy Shop soon, so please stay tuned!

Here's to days bathed in golden light!

Web connections

After researching our options, my son, Rick (+Rick Cogley), found the best way for me to publish my art to Social Media and Etsy in order to sell my work.

I am beyond grateful and so excited to see my refreshed and updated website!

I now have a "beach" theme on the site which is always a favorite for me. It gives me joy just to see the pictures displayed there.

Hoping for good fortune to come my way and that others will like my paintings and purchase some to enjoy at home.

So off I go .....touring the internet with my wares.

Wishing you all abundance and fulfillment this Thanksgiving week,
Mary

Refreshed Site and Etsy Shop
